Mindfulness-Meditation is a secular practice brought to us by the Buddhist wisdom community after centuries of lineage training and development. The profound benefits of mindfulness-meditation are supported by western psychology and neuroscience research.
With a this type of meditation practice, we are transforming neuro-pathways associated with our focus of attention, and our experience of stress and emotional reactivity. We also learn to become more compassionate with ourselves through the practice, with improvements to our very sense-of-self.
Oregon Meditation carefully curates a welcoming and inclusive space to learn these meditation skills. Group workshops and individual training sessions can be tailored to the needs and interests of the student(s). Topics associated with a successful meditation practice are incorporated into each training and workshop, along with a short practice session and Q&A.
Single sessions are designed to support students in developing a meditation practice, while our 3 pack/part workshops and trainings are particularly helpful for building a successful meditation habit over time.

Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness
Studies associated with mindfulness-meditation and trauma-recovery suggest trauma-survivors can benefit from learning meditation skills. Unfortunately, trauma can impede a person’s ability to tolerate a mindfulness-meditation practice. The symptoms of trauma can create a dysregulated nervous system, often with intrusive thoughts/emotions/images, and so on. Enter Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness, or TSM.
TSM can make meditation more accessible to people who might not otherwise be able to tolerate meditation and experience the benefits. In fact, mediation could be harmful under certain circumstances. TSM empowers people to make choices about their meditation at any given moment, utilizing tangible skills to be with, work with, or come back to the meditation when they are ready.
